Abstract

The initial proposals for the Exeter Community Health Services Computer Project were made as a result of a feasibility study carried out in 1967. Financial support for a more detailed evaluation of these proposals was then provided by the Nuffield Provincial Hospitals Trust and a preliminary study was authorised by the D.H.S.S. This second stage of the project culminated in a preliminary report which was submitted to the D.H.S.S. in 1969. Authority was given to the Department to undertake a systems study which was carried out during 1970. This report summarises the results of the systems study.
