TO BE A THINKER YOU MUST NOT BE A DRINKER.

"DRINKING AND THINKING NEVER GO TOGETHER."

The widely regarded physicist Hermann von Helmholtz conveying his view that thinking and drinking never go together. This became a common assertion of the temperance movement.
