Abstract
THE THIEF IN YOUR CHURCH
IF
good people faced the facts, I do not believe Drink would be allowed to go on doing its deadly work for a single month!
Dr. J. D. Jones (Bournemouth)
KNOW THE FACTS
AND
MAKE THEM KNOWN.
This large set of slides were collected as a set entitled ‘Anti-drink’ and illustrate a wide variety of approaches to spreading the message of temperance. This lantern slide reflects the concern of church communities that their congregations were visiting public houses rather than Sunday service.
THAT IS THE CHALLENGE OF 1932!
This lantern slide from 1932 seeks to encourage churches of all denominations to take temperance seriously. Many were committed to temperance, and the Church of England formed its own Temperance Society (1862-1969).
