Abstract

A dialogical investigation and visual comparison of the two Panjabi cities of Lahore, Pakistan and Chandigarh in India.
Chandigarh was built to replace the loss of the Capital of the Panjab (Lahore, after Partition) and was created using Masterplanning approaches to urban development and modernist ideals.

A Touring Community Engagement Exhibition made from 100 x A3 C-Type Black and White photographs from Lahore, Pakistan and 100 photographs from Chandigarh, India. Each participating community helps to install the photos in their place, thus starting conversations about the Partition of India and Pakistan in 1947.

An ongoing project with nine exhibitions in four countries and engaging directly with over 500 participants and thousands of people around the world: As well as some TV Channels in Pakistan and India, William appeared on the 'This is the Life' series on The Muslim TV Channel, broadcasting to over 136 Countries, and talking about the 'Lahore - Chandigarh' project when it was installed in a large empty retail space in Romford, London in collaboration with local colleges and communities.
