Abstract

This study developed out of a small pilot project undertaken by staff from the Department of Social Work and Community Health at the University of Hull. Funding was obtained from East Riding Health Authority, Northumbria Health Care NHS Trust and the University of Hull to undertake a more comprehensive study in two areas – Hull and North Tyneside.
This report details the project findings from work undertaken in North Tyneside. Reference will be made to the findings in Hull as appropriate. A summary of the combined findings from both locations will also be available.
