Abstract

Child Computer Interaction is concerned with the research, design, and evaluation of interactive technologies for children. Whilst many aspects of general HCI can be applied into this field, there are important adaptations to be made when conducting work for and with children throughout all stages of the design cycle. This course explores the use of five evaluation methods that are presented in the recently launched CCI UX Playbook. The Fun Toolkit, Drawing Intervention, The MemoLine, RAiD and Ethics Toolkits are all described in the course and then will be applied in a hands-on activity. Included in the course will be methods for the analysis of data for research papers as well as cut price techniques for the use of the methods in industrial settings.
