Abstract

The paper outlines the development of a new ceramic-based ‘Eco’ material, with significant sustainable credentials. The material made through fusing recycled glass and ceramic waste, presents creative opportunities for artists, architects and designers.
The paper maps the background to the research, starting with the alteration of plastic clay bodies using aggregate materials, through to the use of recycled waste material.
