Abstract

A singer and actress from Rawtenstall will take to the stage at Preston Guildhall on
Thursday 11 July to complete one of the best performances of her life, collecting her
well-earned degree from the University of Central Lancashire.
A former pupil of Fearns High School, Lee-Ann Bulling has been singing ever since she
was at primary school and when she also discovered drama at high school she knew her
future lay in performing arts.
Lee-Ann, a mezzo soprano, now has a degree in Contemporary Performing Arts under
her belt and still hopes to work in the theatre. In the meantime though she is hoping to
develop a career for herself in arts administration, whilst awaiting the opportunity which
might make her famous one day.
"I would love to work in the theatre, particularly musicals, because singing is something
I've always wanted to do," says Lee-Ann. ''There's a lot ofluck involved in getting that
first break, because there are so many talented people out there and not everyone gets
noticed."
Lee-Ann loves the north west and will continue to live in Rawtenstall now she has
graduated. "But if the West End called, I think I'd have to go - it's a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity]" says Lee-Ann.
