The Harris Park Conference Centre in Fulwood has recently succeeded in achieving the
major customer services' award for the Conferences and Meetings Industry.
'Hospitality A<>sured Meetings' accreditation, considered the kitemark of the industry,
was granted to the Conference Centre in January 2002 after nearly 12 months of hard
work and preparation by the team of staff involved. Earning the accreditation meant
undergoing a rigorous independent inspection focusing on an ability to deliver
consistently high standards of quality and service.
The Conference Centre, owned by the University of Central Lancashire, is housed in an
attractive Victorian building, set in 15 acres of beautiful grounds. It provides an
unusual setting for conferences, seminars, exhibitions and private functions.
Louise Houlding, training officer leading the team, said, "It was a worthwhile process
which brought customer service to the front of all our minds. It also shows what a
professional service the University can offer".
Managing Agent for 'Hospitality Assured Meetings', Philip Catlow wal i.I~pressed ~ith
the professional standard of service offered by the Conference Centre and praised the
hard work put in by the staff.
Harris Park will now join an impressive list of hotels and conference centres with
accredited status. The award is assessed on an annual basis which ensures the continued
monitoring of processes and procedures.
