Abstract
These six ecopoems explore our relationships with other species and our interactions with them. In the first three poems, I use mise en page and sound to articulate the striking experience of finding a fossil belemnite, the call of the lyric cicada and Western culture's preoccupation with tracking and naming. The next three consider the pursuit of hiding out to watch wild animals, the sound of an unhatched ostrich calling from within its egg, and the sensation of shedding one's skin to be reborn repeatedly.
