Abstract

This research focuses on the elicited production of 3rd person singular direct object clitics in Cypriot Greek by bilingual Russian–Cypriot Greek children. One of the key concerns is to see whether bilingual children show a different pattern of acquisition with respect to these functional elements and whether they master object clitics and their target placement at the same chronological and school age as monolingual children. In this respect, the present study will be directly compared to related research on early Cypriot Greek within the Cyprus Acquisition Team (Grohmann, 2011, and subsequent work; see Grohmann, this volume, for a summary).
