Abstract

Creative Connections was a study to identify ways of generating positive feelings through graphic design for people living with dementia. The poster presents a ‘fuzzy felt’ wall frieze and two books that have explored the use of visual imagery through sensory graphics. They were all aimed at stimulating the senses through touch and received positive comments in support of being beneficial activities for people with dementia and their carers that were enjoyable, engaging, relaxing and social. Beneficial creative connections were developed both for the people interacting with the designs and for staff, involved in creating the works, providing positive experiences for all.
