Abstract
NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY COMMISSION
CONFLICT (2014)
ARTIST’S VIDEO, 9MIN
Over an 18-month period in 2013 and 2014, the National Portrait Gallery led a creative participation project entitled ‘National Memory – Local Stories’, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and in partnership with local and national museums across the UK.
Victoria Lucas was commissioned as part of this project to create a video work in response to the Redbridge Museum’s World War One collection and the National Portrait Gallery’s archive. The resulting film Conflict was exhibited from 11th November 2014 until the 30th May 2015 at Redbridge Museum, is also digitally represented on the National Portrait Gallery’s microsite.
