Abstract
Domestic Dawn Chorus: Memory and Perception
Heather Ross
Ross will be discussing how her work Domestic Dawn Chorus attempts to make sense of written descriptions of bird call through searching for sonic equivalents in and around the domestic environment. She will discuss this work in relation to Ingold's thoughts on knowing as a process - screening part of the work, she will demonstrate how the film encourages the activation of banal and ambiguous information through searching for equivalents in everyday or familiar materials and actions.
