Streetlife Bradford 1970s to 1980s photographs by Ian Beesley

Abstract

Bradford is my hometown and in the 1970s and 1980s the double edged sword of redevelopment and industrial decline destroyed the core of the inner city where I was born and grew up. I spent weeks walking the streets of Bradford photographing
the communities and landscapes that were being demolished and changed. Whilst this small selection of images documents a city undergoing drastic change, it also represents the humour and resilience of inner city working class communities.
