Abstract
From the romanticism of Parisian flaneurs in the 1930s, to bleak American landscapes captured during lone expeditions in the 70s, to the in-your- face colour snapshots of 80s and 90s Britain, Photography’s history is littered with figures in pursuit of the perfect image. Whilst it is arguably perceived as a solitary venture, there is no denying that it is an expansive journey littered with shared experiences. Collective learning and peer development has informed the work you will see in this, the third volume of North, our annual publication produced by the Photography department at UClan.
