Sound Research Rebellion

Abstract

This recording archives the group in a transitional phase with multiple lineups operating concurrently. This is represented by an eclectic recording showcasing the group’s developing abilities in beginning to undertake improvisations without needing (the supporting framework of) predefined materials. Communally, the group began to take more seriously what they and their music could do, with their growing experience encouraging them to take more risks. The sound palette had also notably broadened, most notably in the prominent role taken by pianist Connor Daniels.
