Receptions.

Wednesday, October 19th.

4.45 p.m. i. Tea Reception at the Assembly Rooms (Room A), by the kind invitation if Mrs. J. Turner, in Memory of her Husband, Mr. J. Turner, who was a personal friend of Joseph Livesey.
ii. By Friend of The Lancashire and Cheshire Band of Hope Union, at the Assembly Rooms (Room B).

7.0 p.m. Mayoral Reception, by kind invitation of The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Preston (Councillor Thomas Clarkson Rainford) at the Guildhall. Responses by National Representatives.

Thursday, October 20th.

4.30 p.m. Tea reception at Walton-le-Dale, by kind invitation of the Friends of the Walton Wesleyan Church and the Church of England.

7.0 p.m. The Joseph Livesey Trustees invite members of the Pilgrimage to a reception following the Mayor’s Welcome on behalf of the Town of Preston, and the Presidential Address, in the Assembly Rooms.

Friday, October 21st.

4.45 p.m. Tea reception by the Proprietors of The Preston Guardian (Messrs, Provincial Newspapers, Ltd.), in the Assembly Room, when Lady Toulmin will welcome the Pilgrims. Joseph Livesey founded the “Preston Guardian” in 1844, and it was bought by Messrs. G. and J. Toulmin in 1859.

Luncheons (by Messrs. Edmunds and McCourty, of Friargate) will be served on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, in the Assembly Rooms at the close of Morning Sessions. Tickets can be obtained at the Reception Room, price 2s. each.

Saturday, October 22nd.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Gray Mathieson, on behalf of The National Temperance League, invite those attending the Abbey Service to a Tea Reception at the Church House, Westminster, 5.45 to 7 p.m., to say “Farewell,” and bid each other “God-speed” as we return to the work.
