Abstract

Poison in Beer.

EVERY Band of Hope boy and girl knows there is always one poison in beer, and that is ALCOHOL. Lately there has been a scare in the Manchester district because another poison has been found in beer, ARSENIC. Moral : Never take any drinks which contain any poison at all – then two dangers will be avoided.
Mr. F. R. Docking, of Croydon, has done a good thing by publishing a big poster containing these words : -

POISONED BEER.

ARSENIC IS POISON!
ALCOHOL IS POISON!

ARSENIC IS PRESENT NOW
By accident (in some Beers),
ALOOHOL IS ALWAYS PRESENT
By intent in ALL Beers, and a larger proportion in
Whiskey, Brandy, Gin, and Rum.

DRINKERS, BEWARE!
