Abstract

In this research, a small-scale drone with the required magnetometer sensor technologies and novel intelligent automated techniques -- the so-called Maggy, was built to automate and ease the procedures of cleaning landmines and UXO. The performance of the Maggy was evaluated in-field tests in the UK and Latvia. The results based on the data sets acquired in the outdoor minefields confirm the viability of the techniques and approaches for detecting legacy landmines and UXO efficiently and cost-effectively.
