Abstract

This text is the introduction to the anthology, 'The Present and Future of Music Law' (Bloomsbury 2021) edited by Tony Rigg and Ann Harrison. It aims to rationalise and demystify fundamental aspects of music law and practice, which also happen to be shared with other industries. It explores different music industry perspectives and their relationships with this framework that underpins the functionality of the music industry. It introduces the chapters within the collection, and finally offers the perspective of a legal practitioner.
