Abstract

The UAE Government began to show interest in employee engagement because of its impact on commitment, performance, profit, and staff retention. This study aims to look into how employee engagement in the Government of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is affected by good work characteristics, such as job design, work-life balance, contracts, relationships at work, health and wellness, and employee voice. It also seeks to ascertain whether the relationship between good work and employee engagement is mediated by enablers in the Government of RAK. Data was gathered using a cross-sectional survey and a quantitative methodology. The Government of Ras Al Khaimah employees received the survey via an online link. To explore the intercorrelation between variables, convergent validity, regression analysis, and the goodness of model, the study employed the RStudio program, which is based on SEM and CFA techniques. The results have shown that pay and benefits, job design, relationships at work and employee voice and representations act as good work dimensions in the Government of Ras Al Khaimah. However, contracts, work-life balance and health seem not to have a significant relation with good work. The regression analysis has shown that there is a significant relationship between good work and enablers and between enablers and employee engagement, meanwhile, there was a partial or moderate relationship between good work dimensions and employee engagement. Three models were proposed to test the hypothesis and to determine the relationships between variables. All three hypotheses can be partially accepted.
