Abstract
Venepuncture enables healthcare professionals to obtain a sample of blood for analysis that can support the care and management of patients, including appropriate treatments that may need peripheral cannulation for venous access. This article provides an overview of venepuncture and peripheral cannulation, including tips to guide mental health nurses.
