Abstract
Members of the public now have the chance to hear scientist and chimp expert Jane
Goodhall, when she delivers the Institute of Biology Christmas Lecture hosted by the
University of Central Lancashire.
"A Twinkle of Hope", the story of Jane and her pioneering work with chimpanzees,
takes place on Monday 16 December 2002, at 1.30 pm in the Harrington Lecture
Theatre. Tickets will be £5 per person and all proceeds will go directly to the Jane
Goodhall Institute to fund their projects.
Jane Goodhall' s work began over 40 years ago in Tanzania and her research findings
have revolutionised how we think about chimpanzees and ourselves. Jane now
combines her scientific work with international advocacy on behalf of chimps and the
environment.
There will also be an opportunity at the lecture for the public to purchase books written
by Jane and other merchandise. To book tickets or to make enquiries, contact Joanne
Parker, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Central Lancashire, tel: 01772
893522.
