Abstract
A school nurse from Tarvin was presented with a special award for academic
achievement at the University of Central Lancashire.
Selina Harbach, 39, recently graduated from the Community Specialist Practitioner
course, specialising as a school nurse. Her tutors were so impressed with her dedication
and commitment that she was also nominated for The Jennifer Humphries Bursary
Award, presented in honour of a former lecturer at the University and given to students
who show a special passion for school nursing.
"Most of the female members of my family are nurses," says mum of two Selina. "But
I also wanted to do something positive in the community, which is why I decided to
move into school nursing. Eventually I'd like to move into the teaching and training
side of the profession."
Selina was presented with her prize at a special award ceremony for students in the
University's Faculty of Health, held in Preston.
