Abstract
This article examines R. Sell's literary theory which analyses literature as a form of communication. By considering the genre of the calendar story and the philosophical interpretation of it, this article proposes that the communicative understanding of literature involves an always present if implicit reference to a utopian horizon of communication. The article contributes to the further development of the paradism for literary analysis developed by R. Sell and his research group.
