Abstract
Staff nurse Tracey Ginger recently exchanged her unifonn for a cap and gown at the
University of Central Lancashire Awards Ceremony in Preston.
Tracey, 33, from Leyland, graduated with a DipHE in Nursing. Her caring career began
at the age of 16, when she started working in a nursing home. After the birth of her
children, Shannon, 10 and Jack aged 9, she began to study again and eventually enrolled
at the University on the three year course, which combined practical work on the wards
with theory in the classroom.
Now a staff nurse at the Royal Preston Hospital, Tracey, who specialises in adult
nursing, is looking forward to achieving another ambition.
"I would eventually like to move into palliative care", she says. "My aim is to be a
Macmillan Nurse."
