Abstract

Students from the Faculty of Health at the University of Central Lancashire will be
celebrating their successes at the forthcoming graduation ceremony at Preston Guildhall
on Monday 3 December 2001.
The students, many of whom will be Lancashire's nursing, caring and health
professionals of the future, will be awarded their degrees by new Chancellor Sir Richard
Evans. During the ceremony, the University will be awarding an Honorary Fellowship
to Malcolm Rae OBE, well-known for his work in the policy and practice of mental
health nursing.
On Tuesday 4 December, the University's postgraduate students will receive their
awards. The University will be also he honouring former Chancellor, Sir Francis
Kennedy with the award of Honora1y Doctorate at the same ceremony.

Please note:

1. University staff and special guests will be processing from StGeorge's Church,
Preston to the Guildhall (up Friargate) at approximately 2.15pm on Monday 3
December. There will be a procession from the Guildhall to the University
(Foster Building, Corporation Street) on Tuesday 4 December, leaving at
approximately 3.30pm in which staff and guests will be joined by students from
the University.
2. The Faculty of Health Ceremony will take place on Monday 3 December at
2.30pm. The Postgraduate ceremony will take place on Tuesday 4 December at
10.30 am.
