Abstract
A group of 11 young volunteers from Burnley and neighbouring towns have been producing a magazine. The magazine called "Nv" is aimed at young adults and has articles on issues including race, fashion, music and art, amongst others.
The magazine has been written and edited solely by them and all artwork and photography is theirs, bar a couple of interesting cartoons! They have been working on it since June and the first edition will be in circulation week commencing the 9th October.
The official launch of this magazine will take place in the Conference room of Burnley College, Ormerod Road, Burnley at 12 noon on Friday 5th October. All press are invited and lunch will be served.
The young people making this magazine are all part of Millennium Volunteers in Burnley and will achieve a government award for their achievements. This magazine project is part of a selection of exciting opportunities offered to 16-24 year olds in the local area.
The group meet every Tuesday at 5pm in the college shop on Manchester Road, Burnley. Anyone who is interested in getting involved should contact Christy Evans on 01282 831644 or James Brindle on 07940 728139.
