Evolving (and co-evolving) the face of a criminal

Abstract

Evidence provided by eyewitnesses can be crucial for solving crime. In two previous articles in The Psychologist, in 2008 and 2012, we explained how we have helped these observers create the face of an offender to assist police investigations. Here, we review this work and explain more recent research. These developments have enabled eyewitnesses to routinely construct an identifiable face and assist the police in solving crimes.
