Upon graduation from the university, he earned a PhD in Physiology from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, India. He joined the University of Central Lancashire in 2022 as a Lecturer in Medical Sciences - Physiology following the completion of his PhD.
He had six years' experience as a tutor, demonstrator, instructor, and teaching assistant in Medical Physiology before being hired in his current role. In addition, he had five years of research experience as a doctoral researcher. His teaching interests include theoretical, practical, and concept-based approaches to systems physiology including the cardio-vascular system, endocrine, respiratory, renal, reproductive, digestive, and nervous systems. He assisted in developing objective structured practical examinations (OSPE), pedagogical techniques, lab exercises, group project presentation, problem-based learning, competency-based learning, and short group teaching (SGT) concepts in the Department of Physiology at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal, India. He believes that he has a natural aptitude for teaching and for explaining concepts at an accessible level. He had been told by his students that his patience and enthusiasm were appreciated as well as his explanation of difficult topics. His experience also includes working with students from a variety of backgrounds and with varying goals and needs. His observation is that each student brings his or her own perspective to the class, which benefits the entire group.
He works in the field of Medicine (Physiology) and is interested in cardio-vascular autonomic functions, molecular physiology, diagnostic biomarkers and metabolic diseases. During his time as a Doctoral researcher, he has presented his research work at various National and International conferences and received 5 honourable mentions. He had 20 research publications in peer-reviewed National and International indexed journals. Additionally, he has experience setting up laboratories to study autonomic functions, obesity, molecular biology, and exercise physiology. He has a strong background in designing a study, writing research protocols, recruitment of subjects, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, proofreading, communication to journals for publication and grant writing.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Physiology, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, India (2017–2022).
