Anne became a registered midwife in 1983 and initially worked in both hospital and community settings in the North West. She then went on to focus on neonatal care and undertook further post registration education at the regional Neonatal Unit in Birmingham. She remained within this clinical speciality for a number of years before embarking on a full time career in midwifery education. She received her Master in Education degree from the University of Manchester in 1998. Anne is based in the School of Health. Her particular interest has previously centred on advanced neonatal nurse practice and she became joint programme leader for a collaborative MSc in Advanced Neonatal Practice with the University of Salford.
