Dr. Stylianou received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Cyprus in 2003 and 2005 respectively. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Economics/Econometrics by the University of Cyprus in 2012. During her Ph.D (2008-2010) she was a visiting dissertator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She was a visiting Lecturer in Econometrics and Macroeconomics at the University of Cyprus for two years before before joining Uclan in 2014.
Her research interests lie in the field of econometrics and macroeconomics with emphasis on the implications of model uncertainty (theory uncertainty and parameter heterogeneity) on economic growth, growth volatility and employment volatility through the implementation of Bayesian Model Averaging and Structural Threshold Regression. Also, she is interested in short-run and long-run implications of structural changes on time series relationships. Her most recent research focuses on the effects of information asymmetries on the labor market and determinants of income inequality.
