In 2011 David became a Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy at Edge Hill University where he taught across the BSc and MSc programmes. In addition to this David completed his PGCTHE and gained membership as a HEA fellow. During his time at Edge Hill University he developed his research interests and in 2012 embarked on a PhD. He has a keen research interest in fatigue, the effects of this on biomechanical function and intervention strategies employed to reduce the effects of fatigue. This work has led to various consultancy roles within professional sport and enabled this research area to be developed further.
David joined the teaching staff at UCLan in September 2015 as the Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy. His main focus within the programme has been to enhance the placement opportunities provided to students and develop the student experience through this; ultimately with the focus of increasing student employability post-graduation.
