Abstract

These pictures show the first kinds of buildings that man made. At first they were, perhaps, simply huts in trees, or holes in the earth. One picture shows an underground house ; others show huts built on lakes, and little clay-brick huts with small doorways, which were the beginning of proper houses. At the bottom is the inside of a house in rome, and the last picture shows an enermous stack of houses, one above the other, in America.
