Implementing Zero Carbon Housing by 2020

Abstract

The purpose of this review is to find the issues that have hampered and ultimately stopped the plans to have all new build housing in 2016 be zero carbon housing. This study will analyse what zero carbon housing is, its importance in the UK, the issues that arose to impede the housing plans both preventable and unavoidable throughout the process started in 2006 and what other countries methods are to meet these standards. This Literature review put forth the question of where the construction industry is at the design stage of a project, as well as asking what could be done to reach the goal of zero carbon housing by 2020.
