Abstract
Energy assessments is becoming a quite a big thing and is picking up quite quickly in the United Kingdom. Therefore they can have an impact on the housing market across the UK. The impact could be beneficial to the homeowner or even a bad thing for some. The research has mainly been driven by a global desire into energy efficiency and reduction in CO2 emissions, where this is a main goal set out by the European Union. The research will focus on small to medium domestic buildings across the North West of England that have a floor area under the set requirement. The extent that the UK government is going through to cover energy efficiency in buildings is high to get homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient. Although the main aim was to research was to assess how energy assessments are having an impact on UK housing market, other factor were taken into account. The accounts that have been taken into place are assessing the Green Deal and the Eco Grant set out by the government to help with energy efficiency in homes. The survey that has been carried out gave disappointing awareness on energy efficiency from the participants across the University of Central Lancashire campus. The survey revealed that the topic did not have a straight answer and the answers were biased.
