To evaluate the ways and means of raising the standards of PPPs in the delivery infrastructure in India.

Abstract

PPPs are important for countries like India which are still in their developing stages but these countries do have the potential to help this world grow. After the 2008 recession India’s growth is bit slow compared to neighbourhood country whereas progress in infrastructure has suffered the most. Despite this with the help of PPPs India have successfully completed ambitious projects in the recent years. So far the situation is improving but there are still some critical factors that have to be resolved in order to solidify the foundation of PPPs in India. This research will help out in understanding the factors which are impacting the growth of PPPs as well as it will also help in understanding the importance of quality in the delivery of PPP projects.
A total 60 questionnaire survey were sent to respondents and they were divided into three categories; public clients, private or contractors and consultants. 20 questionnaire were sent in each of the category. The objective was to understand the ways to maximize the benefits of PPPs in India. Qualitative methodology was used and close-ended questionnaire were given to the respondents.
The findings from the survey were good enough to understand the changes which are require to make PPPs extremely beneficial for the India. Land acquisition and bidding process needs immediate changes to reduce the complex procedure involve in it. Some of the initiatives which according to government can help in successful implementation of PPPs, also requires changes.
