Abstract
Project management is about getting things done by following a set of processes in order to deliver a project on time and on budget. However some project management technologies have resulted in the depletion of natural resources . To deliver successful projects it is important to view project management as a process . With the growing need to save the planet and to limit the impact of climate change more emphasis should be put on developing sustainable ways of managing mega construction project .
To deliver mega construction project management methodologies must incorporate sustainability as a measure to limit the impact of climate change . Sustainability is one of the important challenges in our era and the future. All sectors in any given economy are integrating ideas and concepts of sustainability in corporate communication, annual reports, marketing and their action. These ideas and concepts have made it inevitable for sustainability to be considered in project management methodologies and practices This research presents an evaluation of sustainable project management of Saudi Arabia construction projects with more emphasis of its Mega projects . Sustainability is about meeting the of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs . The study will investigate current construction project management in order to understand which elements of sustainability have been deployed
The study will decode the more pressing issues of achieving sustainability in project management and will conclude by recommending more viable and efficient project management methodologies to reach the level of sustainability.
