Abstract
International artist residency at The Lock up in Newcastle NSW was confirmed and provided an essential period of research at the end of 2016. New partnerships with National Parks NSW informed research into cultural ideas of wayfaring and offered new insight and understanding of haptic navigation and connection to landscape.
The three-week research period explored local cultural understanding of place through multi-sensory navigation, new partnerships with National Parks and the Office of Environment and Heritage provided access to knowledge and equipment during the residency.
