Abstract
A Still Sunrise (2017) is the mid point short film produced during the PhD research of Iakovos Panagopoulos in the University of Central Lancashire with the title: "Reshaping Contemporary Greek Cinema Through a Re- evaluation of the Historical and Political Perspective of Theo Angelopoulos's Work”. Iakovo’s in his phd research is suggesting a new wave of contemporary political Greek cinema through a revaluation of the work and techniques of Theo Angelopoulos. The short film A Still Sunrise (2017) is a practical way that Iakovos could test these techniques before moving to his final project Flickering Souls Set Alight (2019).
