Abstract

The accelerating impacts of climate change pose a global crisis that demands immediate and innovative solutions. This paper explores the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing climate change through mitigation and adaptation strategies. AI, with its data analytics, machine learning, and modelling capabilities, has emerged as a powerful tool in climate research. By analysing vast datasets, improving climate models, and facilitating adaptive measures, AI is revolutionising our capacity to combat climate change. In this paper, we delve into the various facets of AI's contributions to climate research and discuss the challenges, limitations, and prospects of this interdisciplinary field.
