Moving With...

Abstract

Moving With has brought us to much learning about the impact of embodied practice and movement in developing kinaesthetic empathy with our environment, becoming more aware of our own selves through movement supports a greater capacity to be in relationship with other; embodying what we see in nature helps us to understand our relationship with it.
Drawing on the foundational principles of eco-somatics, we are interested in opening a dialogue between the multi – sensory body and the ecology it is part of; each supporting the other in a way that is accessible and enjoyable for young people prioritising care for self, care for others, care for our environment.
We want to work with young people in a way that supports climate education, tackles climate apathy without developing climate anxiety! The movement work is underpinned by the Laban -Bartenieff Movement System which offers a comprehensive understanding of movement and observation as well as parameters for facilitating in a holistic and creative way.
We want to make art that matters, that has impact whilst celebrating the diverse beautiful landscapes we are custodians of.
