Whalley: An unwelcome pressure for Greenfield development.

Abstract

This study is the investigation of opinions and reasons for the opinions of the residents of Whalley upon the proposed planning of housing development for a potential 300 houses and a 50 room residential home within the area. The aims of this study are to determine whether the reasons produced by the residents of Whalley upon the proposed development are justified and valid in respect to the context of the development, and based on the viability of these views, determine whether the residents oppose the development based on personal views or if these views are based on realistic concern about the potential risks the development may have upon the community.
