Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The University of Central Lancashire is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

We test the accessibility across our website on a regular basis against WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Compliance status is website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Some Sections of CLoK may not work for everyone. Below are known issues that we have identified on CLoK. We will be working towards resolving them. Some may be dependent upon the E-Prints platform and need to be resolved by this external third party.

As the website is an open access research repository, the principal content made available to users are research outputs such as articles, papers, posters and reports, many of which are PDF documents. CLoK also contains content created by third-parties that we may be unable to influence. Many PDF documents, especially older ones, are not fully accessible to screen reader software and do not contain other common accessibility features Some historic material has been scanned and uploaded and therefore is of a format that cannot be made accessible enabled. Our ambition is to ensure that new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards wherever possible.

Disproportionate burden

It would be a disproportionate burden to retrospectively check and amend all the content on this repository into an accessible format. Researchers/users that wish to request accessible versions should contact clok@uclan.ac.uk

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We will continue to review the accessibility of our website using automated tools and manual testing procedures where necessary.
