Abstract

The article argues that during COVID lockdowns, live webcams offered a simple form of virtual travel, giving real time access to nature, coasts and cities when movement was restricted. They helped people feel connected and lifted mood, and can complement future trips by keeping destinations in mind without the costs or impacts of physical travel.
