Sea level rise: three visions of a future summer holiday at the coast

Abstract

The article imagines three futures for seaside holidays under rising seas: defend with hard engineering, adapt with nature-based and design changes, or retreat to new inland or reconfigured coastal sites. It argues that choices made now will determine whether coastal breaks feel familiar or are reshaped by protection, adaptation, or relocation.
